FIRST DINA AT BLUEBOY CLUB.jpg

It's all my son's fault that I'm here. He had discovered Second Life in a magazine, and decided that his computergeek mom needed to spice up her life with a little online adventure. Little did he know that once I got here the only way he would ever see me again was to log in and find me on the grid. I became Richardina Petty, supposed illegitimate daughter of a famous racecar driver (or so my momma told me). As I wandered about SL for my first few days, I was blown away with the creativity and humanity of the SL inhabitants. I was “adopted” by a couple of the guys from the BlueBoy club who made sure that when I played the raffle ball it was stuffed with Lindens, gave me free clothes and “bling,” and became my true friends.

I met my first SL “boyfriend” on the steps of the Xcite store (where else?). Louie and I had great adventures as we explored SL, sometimes all night long. Everywhere I went, I managed to get into trouble…run over by a roller coaster, falling down an elevator shaft, drowning a multitude of times. Louie would patiently find me and help rescue me. It took me many days to figure out that teleporting to anyplace else would get me out of these emergencies.

Louie and I rented a lot in the SleezyWood trailer park which became my home for over a year. Louie put up a free trailer and we proceeded to furnish it with inventory stuff and freebies from the Sleezywood junkyard. We soon discovered our trailer was on the sim landing point, and we had frequent visitors crashing through our roof… whole families, people in cars, mafiosos. We were delighted with Sleezywood and decided to rent two lots side-by-side so we could each decorate our own places. I wanted a beachfront tiki trailer, and Louie liked sheep and water towers. My original trailer is now located in the JYB trailer park (the brown one with all the windows). Sleezywood was a busy place with many unusual visitors around the clock.
