The Junkyard sim is our oldest residential area. It comes with a bit of lag during busy club hours, but the advantage of living on the same sim as Junkyard Blues is that you get all the DJ shows piped straight from the club into your houseboat, shack, or trailer, and, of course, you are only a short walk from the action. But if your tastes run more to seclusion and privacy, you might find something to your liking on one of our other residential regions.
The Old Houseboat Marina Located near the club, this is our oldest houseboat marina with our oldest-looking houseboats. The music comes straight from the Junkyard, including DJ shows and our own radio stream. These boats rent for 400 – 500 L per week and are popular for both price and community.
The Trailer Park
Located between the Old Marina and the club, the trailer park is in the Junkyard Blues backyard. It is only a short stroll to the club from here and offers a nice mix of friendly, eccentric neighbors and good music. Trailers rent for 300 - 350 L per week furnished.
Mini Island Shacks
These are located near the Cove Cafe on the south sim. Some are rather beat up, while others have been freshly painted and varnished by our maintenance crew. Bungalows come with their own private mini islands and docks. They rent for 500 L unfurnished.
The New Houseboat Marina
Located on the South sim, these are are newer, larger, double-decker boats with the living area below and the bedroom on the second level. They are on their own private parcels with their own music and media streams These boats rent for 750-800 L per week unfurnished.
The Dock Shanties
For those who love the look of weathered wood and rusty metal, these shanties are the place to be. Sit on your dock and watch the crabs skitter about in the shallow, brackish water. Open another beer. You can look for a job tomorrow.
Palmetto Island Bungalows
These are the most luxurious and expensive dwellings in the Junkyard Blues estate at 1000 L per week, but still a great bargain considering the location, landscaping, and privacy. Just a few bungalows share an entire sim.
The No-Tell Motel The No-Tell is located on the south sim next to Dina’s Diner. There are four living units including the popular Elvis Room and the room with the picture of the dogs playing poker. We borrowed the name because we liked it so much. Motel rooms come with clean sheets and air conditioning and cost 100 L per week. You get a 10% discount at the diner.
The Yacht Basin
Boat moorings are located next to the Pavilion on the south sim. If you wish to live in an ocean-going boat you can rent one of ours or moor your own.Please speak with Dina if you have any questions about boat size or prim usage.Moorings for much smaller boats are available near the beach on the north sim.
Rental Homes on Selena's Pompano Island There are only 3 homes on Pompano Island, all of them for rent by Selena Sideways who owns this lavishly landscaped homestead ocean sim. You are invited to drop her an IM inworld for information about them.
